Freddie's bar and grocers
Facilities outside the village
The nearest towns outside Caherdaniel (turning right out of An Gleantáin) are Waterville (about
20 minutes away) and Cahersiveen (about 30 minutes) - just follow the coast road. Both towns
have a wide selection of shops, pubs and restaurants.
Between Caherdaniel and Waterville, you pass the Scariff Inn, which has a bar and
restaurant. There are some spectacular views of the coastline from here - definitely worth a stop!
Turning left out of An Gleantáin - immediately outside the village you pass the Derrynane Hotel
which has an Egon Ronay recommended restaurant and then O'Carroll's Cove - which has a beach
bar and restaurant.
The next big village is Sneem, (about 25 minutes away) which also has a good selection of
shops, pubs and restaurants. Along the way to Sneem there are a number road side pubs.
Beyond Sneem is Kenmare another 25 minutes further on - loads of pubs, restaurants and shopping!
